Nandini
Nandini, aged 5 years studying in Prep Class at Divya Shanthi High School - Father who was a lorry driver died of a road accident. She has a sister studying in a government school. Her mother who works as a housemaid earns little income, found it very difficult to care for her children.

School for Special Needs Children
This school is established during 1978 with main aim of providing education to special needs children in a way that addresses their individual differences and needs. In Divyashanthi, through this special needs education program, an attempt is made that every child reaches his/her optimum potential and attains an independent level of functioning.
Community Based Education
Community based Education is defined as learning and social development work with individuals and groups in their communities using a range of formal and informal methods. At Divyashanthi, as part of community development there are 6 community schools with over 300 children.
